Dr Davide Mare


Davide is Lecturer in Business Economics at the University of Edinburgh Business School and Research Fellow of the Institute for Competitiveness (I-Com). He also collaborates with the World Bank on several research projects. Before joining the University of Edinburgh Business School, Davide gained extensive professional experience in risk management practices through his work as a financial consultant for top European banks in Italy, Spain and UK.

Davide is an expert in the assessment of the individual bank risk of default and in applied financial valuation. His main research interests lie in banking, focusing on bankruptcy prediction, credit risk and efficiency. Davide is also interested in finance for economic development. His work has appeared in leading international journals and reports, including the World Bank flagship report “Risks and Returns: Managing Financial Trade-Offs for Inclusive Growth in ECA”.
