The next annual conference of the International Research Society for Public Management (IRSPM) will be held on 11 to 13 April 2018 at the University of Edinburgh Business School.
CenSE takes the lead in organising the 2018 IRSPM conference

IRSPM is the largest global research society on public services with members on every continent of the world. Its annual conference regularly attracts in excess of 500 researchers to discuss the design, management and evaluation of excellent public services. For 2018, the theme of the conference is the co-creation of value between public service organisations and citizens in the design and delivery of public services.

The conference will start with a major plenary session featuring Christian Gronroos (Emeritus Professor at Haken Business School and one of the leading thinkers on value co-creation) and Sarah Drummond (Chief Executive of Snook, a leading service design consultancy with a high impact in public services) discussing value and co-creation in theory and in practice.

It will also feature 40 panels spanning the breadth of public service theory and research, including a spinal panel on value co-creation and the co-production and co-design of public services. It will also feature special panels on research methodology and on recognising and growing the role of women in the public management research community. A civic reception will take place at the Scottish Parliament, hosted by the Lord Provost of Edinburgh, and the Annual Gala Dinner will take place at the National Museum, Edinburgh.

The Co-Chairs of the conference are CenSE Directors Professor Stephen P Osborne and Dr Sophie Flemig.
