The new course will be titled ‘Understanding and Managing Public Services’.
In collaboration with the Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Business School, CenSE has designed a new undergraduate course intended to equip its graduates with an understanding of public services and the key challenges of their management. The course will be available from the academic year 2020/21 onwards, subject to final approval from the School’s Undergraduate Committee. The course will include three elements:
- A lecture series on public services and their key challenges.
- Guest speakers from the world of public service management from across Scotland.
- A Grand Challenge each year where students will work in small groups to design a discrete public service that addresses a specific element of a major challenge for societies around the world. For 2020/21 this challenge will be ‘Solving World Poverty’.
