In April, Tie was invited by Professor Liang Ma to visit the School of Government at Peking University. This was followed by a research visit to the School of Public Administration at Sichuan University at the invitation of Professor Fengchun Fan. During the two visits, Tie presented and discussed the evolution of value scholarship at the frontier of public administration. This research draws substantially on work undertaken through CenSE. The seminars attracted PhD students and academics from both institutions.

In May, Tie visited the School of Management at Politecnico di Milano at the invitation of Dr Eleonora Gheduzzi. He delivered a lunchtime research seminar titled “The Dark Side of AI-Enabled Public Services”, presenting an ongoing study of how AI-enabled public services may generate value destruction within public service ecosystems. Attended by around 20 members of academic staff, the seminar prompted an engaging discussion and was warmly received.

Together, these international engagements provided valuable opportunities to share emerging CenSE research, build scholarly connections and enhance the Centre’s global visibility.
